Rockstar Games is preparing to give fans another look at Grand Theft Auto VI, and this time the reveal is happening somewhere unexpected: Netflix.
Rockstar has officially announced Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, a new presentation scheduled to premiere on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 3:00 PM ET. Netflix subscribers will be the first to watch the highly anticipated GTA VI presentation before it becomes available elsewhere.
GTA VI Comes to Netflix
Netflix confirmed the collaboration on August 6, describing it as a first-of-its-kind partnership with Rockstar Games. According to Netflix, subscribers will receive an early look at GTA VI beginning at 3:00 PM Eastern Time on August 27.
For a franchise whose trailers routinely become major gaming events, bringing the next GTA VI reveal to Netflix represents an unusual marketing move.
Netflix VP of Nonfiction Series Brandon Riegg described GTA reveals as cultural events and said the company was excited to give Netflix members the first opportunity to see the next chapter of the game.
The Netflix exclusivity will also be temporary. According to The Verge, the presentation is expected to become available on Rockstar’s YouTube channel later that evening at 9:00 PM ET, six hours after its Netflix premiere.
Is This GTA VI Trailer 3?
Possibly — but Rockstar hasn’t officially called it that.
This is an important distinction.
Rockstar’s official GTA VI website currently lists the presentation simply as “An Extended Look”, alongside Trailer 1 and Trailer 2. The company has not publicly detailed exactly what footage the presentation will contain.
That opens the door to several possibilities.
Fans could see new story footage involving Jason and Lucia, a closer look at Vice City and the larger state of Leonida, new vehicles, activities, characters, or potentially a deeper look at actual gameplay.
But until Rockstar confirms the contents, calling the August 27 presentation an extended GTA VI reveal is more accurate than definitively labeling it Trailer 3 or a gameplay trailer.
What Could Rockstar Show?
Expectations will naturally be extremely high.
The first two GTA VI trailers concentrated heavily on the game’s characters, setting, atmosphere, and Rockstar’s recreation of Florida-inspired culture.
An extended presentation gives Rockstar significantly more room to explain how the game actually works.
One of the biggest unanswered questions is how much the gameplay formula has evolved since Grand Theft Auto V. Fans will likely be watching for information about driving, combat, police behavior, NPC interactions, businesses, interiors, customization, and the scale of the open world.
There is also the possibility that Rockstar will reveal more about Jason and Lucia’s relationship and the criminal conspiracy at the center of the story.
Rockstar’s official description says that after an easy score goes wrong, the pair find themselves caught in a conspiracy stretching across Leonida, forcing them to depend on each other to survive.
August 27 may finally give players a much clearer idea of how that story translates into the actual game.
GTA VI Release Date Is Getting Closer
The presentation also arrives less than three months before GTA VI’s scheduled launch.
Rockstar currently lists Grand Theft Auto VI for November 19, 2026, with confirmed versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
That makes the August presentation especially significant.
With release approaching, Rockstar is entering the stage where players can reasonably expect substantially more information about the game, its features, and what separates GTA VI from its predecessor.

The GTA VI Hype Is About to Get Even Bigger
GTA VI is already one of the most anticipated video games in the industry, but August 27 could mark the beginning of Rockstar’s biggest promotional push yet.
Choosing Netflix for the premiere also shows just how enormous the GTA franchise has become. A new GTA reveal isn’t being treated simply as another gaming trailer — it’s being positioned as a mainstream entertainment event.
The big question now is exactly what “An Extended Look” means.
Will Rockstar finally show an extended gameplay demonstration? Will we get a deeper look at Jason and Lucia? Will new areas of Leonida be revealed?
We won’t have to wait much longer to find out.
Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look premieres on Netflix on August 27 at 3:00 PM ET.
